Emily is a Research Associate in the Auditory Perception & Cognition Lab (APC Lab) where she specializes in behavioral and functional neuroimaging research.

Emily completed her PhD in 2018 in the Cognitive and Brain Sciences program, with a minor in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, at the University of Minnesota. She has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in art, with an emphasis in graphic design, from the University of Wisconsin. 

In 2015, she was awarded the Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience (ACN) Erasmus Mundus grant and went to The Netherlands to learn computational modeling and work in Dr. Elia Formisano's lab at Maastricht University. 

Prior to the pandemic, Emily completed data collection for the massive 7T Natural Scenes Dataset (NSD) for Dr. Kendrick Kay's Computational Visual Neuroscience Lab. 

In 2020, she traveled to the NYU campus in Abu Dhabi with Dr. Kay to assist in teaching an fMRI data analysis workshop during the January term. They were invited by Dr. Bas Rokers, a professor at NYU.

In 2023, she received a 3-year early career research (ECR) R21 grant through NIH's National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) for a project called, "Functional and structural characterization of human auditory cortex using high-resolution MRI."
